Featured Community Group

Welcome to the Argenta Community Workshop, a space that aims to cultivate a culture centered on values and skills related to repairing, making, and sharing items within the Lardeau Valley community. Funding from the Kootenay Savings Foundation along with other community support helped this small community see the dream of opening a multifunctional facility in Argenta, that serves as a repair cafe, makerspace, tool, and small equipment lending library, and workshop venue for the public.

Opened in 2024, the workshop offers educational programs for all ages, building skills, confidence, and practical techniques. It strengthens community ties through mutual support and promotes sustainable practices as an alternative to consumerism. Economically, it provides income opportunities for staff and local entrepreneurs, supporting the local economy. To learn more about this workshop, visit the on Instagram or Facebook

To the team of volunteers that worked to make this idea a reality – thank you!
