January 25, 2019 - Based on 2018 financial results, the Kootenay Savings Board of Directors has declared a 2.25% patronage and share dividend, which will see over $746,000 in profit shares distributed through the credit union's Member Rewards Program.

Kootenay Savings Disappointed in OSFI Decision to Ban Use of Banking Terms
July 18, 2017 - On Friday, June 30, the federal Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) issued an advisory that essentially banned credit unions from using the term “banking” to describe the services they offer Canadians. Their advisory takes a strict interpretation of the Bank Act, and based on this interpretation, the federal government could lay criminal charges against any credit union that uses the term “bank,” “banker,” or “banking”.
